I don't know about you, but bread speaks a love language to me! There is nothing more exciting than pulling a loaf of bread out of the oven that your hands have made, knowing what was put into it, and how good it will taste! I have been making my bread for years, after watching my mother, grandmothers, and mother-in-law bake their own bread too.
About ten years ago, I switched to making sourdough bread, and I've never looked back! I've experimented with many recipes, and have settled on the one I share in my cookbook. It is simple, easy, and makes a lovely sandwich-style bread. Nothing tastes any better, in my humble opinion, than hot bread fresh out of the oven, dripping with butter and maybe even a spoonful of homemade jam!

As much as we all love bread, the Lord knew how much bread meant to us, too - so much so that He called Himself the Bread of Life! Nothing satisfies our spiritual hunger like Jesus, our Bread of Life.
Here is a passage where Jesus speaks to us about being the Bread of Life...
When they found him on the other side of the lake, they asked him, “Rabbi, when did you get here?”
26 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw the signs I performed but because you ate the loaves and had your fill. 27 Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.”
28 Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”
29 Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”
30 So they asked him, “What sign then will you give that we may see it and believe you? What will you do? 31 Our ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written: ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’[a]”
32 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”
34 “Sir,” they said, “always give us this bread.” John 6:26-33
Jesus satisfies our spiritual hunger like a fresh loaf of bread, and nothing satisfies our physical hunger like a hot loaf of fresh bread!
If you're looking for a wonderful recipe for a sourdough loaf of bread, or you're searching for the true Bread of Life, it is all available to you today! I pray that each of you has tasted of that "Bread of Life," and if you haven't, I'd love to introduce you to Him!
In fact, there is nothing I love more than sitting down with a piece of hot, fresh sourdough bread and reading the Word of God. It is a beautiful way to enjoy the day!
How do you like to enjoy a fresh piece of bread? With butter? Strawberry jam? Maybe some whipped cream cheese? Oh.. the possibilities are endless!
I hope I haven't made you too hungry with this post! (I know I am !)
Many blessings to each of you!

We love your cookbook, sweet friend! I have never made homemade bread. It is something I would ike to do, but I feel like I would eat too much of it! LOL! May God richly bless you and your family today. Praying for you and Dan!
